Levi (formerly known as Taffy) got a BIG forever family

Two and half years ago Levi Guido (formerly Taffy) was adopted into his new forever family. Unlike most forever families, besides his "parents", Levi also has over 250 "brothers and sisters". Levi's new forever family happens to be at the Wells Community Boys & Girls Club in Bluffton, IN.
Levi's adventure into his new family started with a group of children at the Club asking the Executive Director, Lisa, if they could get a dog for the Club. This youthful spirited request ultimately led to Lisa's decision to adopt a dog that she would take to work as a "Club Dog". After research into the best type of dog for a setting filled with energetic children, Lisa applied to adopt Levi (believed to be a Shih Tzu/ Bichon mix).
Two and a half years have gone by and Levi is truly living "the dog's life". Each weekday morning he wakes ready to go to "work". Once at work, Levi's job consist of: giving tours to new "friends" who visit the Club, listening to kids read during homework and reading time, being the all time "un-freezer" during freeze tag, and showing all the kids at the Club what true unconditional love really is. Recently Levi was one of the stars in the Club's talent show, showing off his ability to sit, lie down, roll over and dance. For all his hard work, Levi is paid with all the love, petting, and attention any dog could handle (and a few treats here and there).
Levi is not only a part of the Club where the kids are concerned, but he is also a celebrity member of the board of directors for the Club. He's been highlighted in several newspaper articles in Bluffton, and is touted as one of the Club's biggest fundraisers. Thanks to Perfect Paw's Pet Rescue, not only has Levi's life improved through adoption, but the lives of so many children have also improved. Thank you Perfect Paw's for our "perfect pet"!!

Pancake & Buster (now named Charlie)

We adopted 2 of our 3 dogs from Perfect Paws. They have been nothing but a blessing. Pancake and Charlie (f/k/a Buster) were adopted two years apart but have become the best of friends! They're sweet but they like to cause trouble! :) They like to tease their other brother, Max. I couldn't imagine my life without them! Thank you Perfect Paws! I will forever refer people to you!

Sadie, Formerly Known as Luna

We adopted Sadie (formerly known as Luna) about two weeks ago, but had no idea what we were in for. She was very rambunctious, and despite what the foster family told us, she had a biting problem. No matter; after two previous homes, we weren't about to give up on her. We brought Sean Nowicki, founder and owner of In Home Dog Trainer, to our home to help us with Sadie's biting issues, along with her house and crate training, and overall rambunctiousness. I jokingly called Mr. Nowicki the "Dog Whisperer," but my husband, Jeremy and I were really amazed at what this man has done for the newest member of our family, and for our family itself. I went from being extremely frustrated to completely content with her behavior. Our year-and-a-half old son was once terrified of her, as Sadie would intimidate him, snatching food out of his hand or pushing him over with just a push of her nose. Not anymore. Our son has no hesitations anymore in walking right up to her and petting, playing,
and even trying to feed her. They love each other. Sean also taught us how to let Sadie off her leash and getting her to come to us at our command. Now she has 16 acres of land to channel all of her energy out on by running and chasing butterflies and grasshoppers.

I'm so thankful for Perfect Paws for allowing us the opportunity to give Sadie a home, and I'm also thankful to Sean Nowicki for his services. Thank you just doesn't cut it. He truly transformed our puppy and everyone, including her, is much happier.

Pancake and Charlie (fka Buster)

Pancake and his brother Charlie (fka as Buster) get along great. They were both adopted through perfect paws and it is almost like it was meant to be. They love chasing squirrels and hanging out with their other brother Max. Perfect Paws made our lives complete and I'm so thankful and blessed that they gave me these two!

Lucy

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio I lost my precious standard poodle Bentley in Feb. I contacted Perfect Paws Pet Rescue because I saw a poodle on their site named Lucy. Tammy the director contacted me right away. We spoke on the phone several times and for long conversations. I drove 3 hours to Fort Wayne Indiana to adopt Lucy.

Dempsey

We adopted Dempsey back in January. He had been looking for a couple months to add a German Shepherd to our family. We saw his picture on the website and instantly fell in love with him. He has been a great addition to our family. He has the funniest, and most playful personality. It took a couple of weeks for him to open up, but once he did, WOW! Never a dull moment with him. He has become and mamas boy 100%. There is never a time where he is not by my side. I have been a stay at home mom so he is never lonely. He learned how to sit, give a high five, lay down, and speak about two days after we got him. He came with his "baby" the skunk, and he still sleeps with that thing every night.

We want to thank you for choosing us to be Dempseys new family. We love him very much. He is turning into a beautiful dog, and I can not wait to see what the future holds for our family with Dempsey.

Chance

Chance. I have no idea where to begin... We didn't know that we could love so much again after our old cat died. We brought him home about 5 months ago. He's grown so much since! He's a pretty muscular cat for 8 months, but that doesn't surprise us since he jumps up refridgerators and doors and loves to stand like a meerkat. We decided to keep his name since nothing else fit. We kept it because we gave Chance a second chance at life. He had a few training issues at first but he's getting much better. He's always running up and down the stairs, finding new high places, and attacking/playing with us. Whenever one of us comes home he lays down and wiggles around with his belly in the air, just begging to have his belly rubbed. He tends to hang out with us where ever we are-that includes watching the animals on Nature and Animal Planet with us! Thanks to Perfect Paws for giving us the best cat we could ever imagine!

Lydia

We adopted Lydia today (Jan 21, 2011). I saw her at Petsmart earlier in the week and immediately fell in love with her. She didn't hesitate or shy away from my children (who cried when we left the store without her)! Her story was heartbreaking and I wanted to give her the forever home she deserves. She is the snuggliest most lovable cat I have ever met. She will roll over on her back and let you rub her belly. The happier she is the more she drools, which is one more part of her personality that cracks us up! We are so happy to ha e her as our newest family member! Thank you for such a wonderful companion!

Mya (now Lulah)

Perfect Paws, thank you for offering the best dog in the world to me!

Your bulldog mix Mya was adopted in November, was renamed Lulah (for her possible Alapaha Blue blood bulldog heritage, per the vet) and immediately became the princess of the neighborhood. She is clever, inquisitive, and has a winning personality. Her gorgeous markings are just an outward sign of her inner beauty.

She enjoys playing with other dogs at her weekly doggy daycare, and always gets great marks for her ability to play appropriately with any size or age of dog.

She plays at the large dog park 2 to 3 times a day with her new buddies and her BFF Bindi, a 2 year old red Australian shepherd. Bindi races, Lulah brings her down to wrestle, one escapes, and it goes all over again. When she's not playing rodeo, she's very busy standing guard at my kitchen window, protecting me from seen an unseen dangers, like the UPS man. She looks so scary, but is such a sweetie!

I can't believe that someone could let this dog go as a stray, but I'm glad that they did. Lulah seems so happy to live with me, and I think I am the lucky one!
