Scruffy (aka Tanner)

I adopted Scuffy (fostered under the name of Tanner) a couple months ago. I had been looking for a breed that worked fo people with allergies, and found that a Yorkie also met other criteria I was looking for (small, etc.). Tanner/Scruffy had been offered for about 3 months before I began the adoption process. He was listed as a Yorkie mix, which he is, and about 5 years old. This was good because I was looking for a mature adult dog. He was also said to be "housebroken". After I had Scruffy for a week, I took him to the vet for a check-up. Imagine my surprise when the vet told me that Scruffy is no more than 2 years old! That explains why he chews everything in sight. Scruffy is also NOT housebroken, but is getting better.

Before you adopt, be sure you ask everything about the dog and then cross your fingers that what you're told is the truth.

If he wasn't so sweet sometimes, I'd have to give him back!

The Chauncey Bean!

We adopted Chauncey (then known as Blitzen) on January 4th of 2010 when he was about 12 weeks old. What a great way to start the year. We are so happy with our little Cocker Spaniel, although he's not that little anymore! We estimate his birthday to be October 15th so I just wanted to let you know how well this birthday boy is doing. We call him the "Chauncey Bean" because he's kinda shaped like a bean, sometimes we call him "Little Piggy" because he's gotten a bit porky and loves his treats, other times we call him the "Spotted Cow" because he likes to graze on the flowers in the garden and on occasion he is known as "Shark Attack" when hides under the bed and pops out to attack you when you get off the boat (bed). I never realized we were adopting so many animals at once! He is best buddies with our Goldendoodle Winston and together they make sure our 7 year old son wakes up for school on time with lots of dog kisses. I'll tell them "It's time to wake up Alex" and t
hey will both head straight for his bedroom door. It's their favorite part of the morning. Chauncey is a favorite at Petsmart. The groomers there love it when he comes in and he loves his spa days. They say he is one of the best behaved Cockers they see. We're so happy to have him as part of the family and that you were able to foster him until his found his forever home with us! He's living the good life now! We'll post with new pics next year....See you then!
